A sector decision, not a product decision

A deck is a made surface over ground that is not
The name is a description of the job rather than a metaphor invented afterwards. Consumer software is a level, predictable surface laid over hardware, operating systems, network conditions and human attention, none of which are level or predictable. The interesting work is in the fixings underneath, and almost none of it is visible from the top.
That is also why this site looks the way it does. There is no product to photograph, so the pages carry the structure instead: the register entry, the working rules, the documents, and a plain list of the things that are not true yet.
There is an unrelated mobile application published under a similar name by a different operator, and there is a long established British timber engineering firm with a similar name in a completely different trade. WILDDECK LTD is connected to neither of them.
Two commitments that are cheap to make now and expensive to break later
Both are stated here so that a future version of this company can be measured against them, and so that a reader can hold this page up against whatever the store listing eventually says.
Data stays on the device unless there is a reason it cannot
The default position for any WILDDECK product is that the content a person creates lives on their own device and is not copied to a server operated by the company. Where a feature genuinely cannot work that way, the exception gets its own row in the privacy notice, with the purpose, the lawful basis and the retention period written next to it before the feature ships.

- Any security certifications? None. WILDDECK LTD does not hold ISO 27001, SOC 2 or Cyber Essentials, has not applied for any of them, and has no assessment under way.
